Care Ministry

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Father who is full of mercy, and the God of all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble so that when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us.” - 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4

The EBCG Care Ministry seeks to play an important role within the Body of Christ: encouraging one another and building each other up through prayer and practical means. We seek to be the hands and feet of Christ, to go out to our brothers and sisters within the church, to support in times of need and to celebrate together in times of joy. And we seek to mobilize the church body in participating in this ministry by spurring one another on in love and good works.

Care Activities

Encouragement
We seek to encourage believers in practical ways by sending handwritten notes, emails, or telephone calls to stand alongside with them in their sorrows and their joys.
 
Visiting & Hospitality
If someone is sick or unable to leave their home, we seek to visit them at home or in hospital. And we desire to encourage hospitality by meeting with people through the week for coffee or meals, and encouraging new people in their transition to our city or church.
 
Food Preparation
When someone has had a new baby or a recent surgery, we like to provide homemade meals twice a week for up to a month.
 
Celebration
We desire to send notecards for milestone birthdays and anniversaries, as well as for weddings and new babies.
 
Prayer
We commit to praying for needs that are known to us, and if possible praying with that individual.
