John Sagherian, Youth for Christ, Middle East
John is the Middle East, North Africa (MENA) Regional Director for Youth for Christ ministries (YFC). He attended EBCG for many years and was one of the first missionaries sent out from our church. John is responsible for supporting the leaders of YFC's ministries across 8 nations (Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, UAE and Bahrain). He has recently led groups this Spring into Syria, visiting Alepp and meeting with YFC staff there to encourage them following the earthquake in February 2023. He also visited an Armenian village in the mountains in the northwest corner of Syria, where he reached out to encourage the youth who have had a particularly rough time over the past 10 years. Later he traveled with a team to Erbil, in Northern Iraq to give training to the youth leaders of the local churches. He then flew south to Baghdad and on to Jordan to train youth leaders and older youth group members. John is a powerful example of an experienced leader, continuing to serve as God gives him strength! We are so privileged to partner with John in this dynamic ministry! |
