Jubilee Testimonies

EBCG launched it's year-long Jubilee celebration on Sunday, 27 September 2020. Over 300 people participated in the service. Click below to watch the video of testimonies shared during this service.

"We have very fond memories of our time with you all at EBCG. We made many good friends and shared so much together in the years we spent with you. It was a very precious and fulfilling time for us.

It was a privilege to worship and share fellowship with so many fine people from all over the world. I particularly remember the men’s retreats and the church council meetings at Sam’s place, and the Alpha Course Holy Spirit day, with the snow gently falling outside. They were times of good fellowship and a strong awareness of the presence of the Lord.

It’s good to know that you are continuing strongly with the good work, and we share with you a hope for a harvest for the Lord in the city of Geneva, with its rich Christian heritage.

We wish you well as you celebrate your Jubilee year. Love and best wishes"
- John & Margaret Woodrow

"I have been at EBCG for over 25 years, and I am blessed to have witnessed HIS faithfulness. I pray we continue to keep our eyes fixed on the Lord, and for him to guide us as a community to serve Geneva" - Current Member

"EBCG has walked with us for many years as we continue to serve in France. We pray for renewed vision, strengthen and protection to the community. Happy Birthday!" - Missionary

Prayers and Wishes for the next 50 years of EBCG

EBCG, I bless you with the word in Psalm 133 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

The Lord promised his unfailing love in Jeremiah 31:3, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
Psalm 103:1-5 Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord has gone into your future to prepare the way, and in kindness He follows you behind to spare you from the harm of the past. He has laid His hand on you! This is just too wonderful, deep and incomprehensible! His understanding of you brings you wonder and strength.
Psalm 139:5-6 TPT

From Mavreen Kimeli

I believe that EBCG will be a church that passes on the torch of faith from generation to generation, irrespective of what's happening in the world

From Alan

Ephesians 3: 14 - 21

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father [f]of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

The word of the Lord for the church, in this particular season,
Galatians 5:1:
Stand[a] fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

From Clive Haas
I was reminded of different new testament verses that speak of moving on from milk to solid food once the “basics” are integrated (Hebrews 5 and 6). As I think of EBCG I am so thankful for what God has done, what He is doing, and will do, I am also believing God for this move from milk to solid food. I thank God for the growing that is to come in these next 50 years. I also have this image of a big body that has placed a foot on/in the Word, like a shoe, then another on the Spirit. It has not moved yet, it has been learning how to stand. I see that it is about to take its first steps now. It’s really exciting!

From Carolina Labbé
This year of reflection has been rich in reconnecting with our foundational roots by first, seeing the Lord’s blessings and handy work on EBCG and second, in celebrating the good works and the individuals that poured their dedication and love into building this ‘house of worship’ for many from multiple nations. I pray that EBCG continues to draw on the strengths of the past but also learn in new and creative ways how the Lord is calling it as a ‘body of believers’ to grow this ‘body’, train and equip this ‘body’ to serve in love in-house and the wider Geneva community and to rise up to the challenges, both spiritually and societally, as EBCG steps into the next 50 years. In thanks for EBCG and how my life has been so enriched through my connection with it.

From Betsy Gano
Isaiah 43 not dwell on the past, forget the former things, be streams in the wasteland of our world

God’s continued blessings to you all as you move forward in your knowledge of Him. May you all be encouraged to trust Him more in the years ahead. May you continue to experience His peace as you focus on Him. Is.26:3

From another vision in the prayer meeting this Morning : may we be free of all fear (of men, of suffering, of any other evil) and instead we would be filled with the fear of God even in the midst of darkness and suffering. in that may the gates be lifted up and the King of Glory come in and be exalted

From Sara and Elia

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon him for he careth for you.

From Wendy
The Lord’s goodness is so manifest here. Thank you for discipling us, loving us, empowering us to follow and serve Jesus in the 15 years we spent with you.

Galatians 6: 9, 10.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Romans 12:1

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Blessing for EBCG

I bless you to always to humbly turn and repent, to give head to the Father’s leading and correction,
I bless you with the spirit of wisdom being poured out on you,
that the Lord will make His words of wisdom known to you.

I bless you to always accept the counsel of God always with a tender heart.
I bless you to always call on the Lord and to know that He will answer you in the day of storms, distress, whirlwinds and anguish, for you diligently seek Him.
I bless you to know and walk in the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord, and that you will listen to His written and spoken word and that each one in your midst shall dwell securely and in confident trust and quietness, without fear or dread of harm or evil.

Psalm 34:6
Revelations Chapter 3: 7 - 13

To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.
11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To keep God's perspective, to continue from his perspective. Our view is limited but if we look upon him, we keep this perspective for the future.

From Jan Plavcan
For the coming years may we as EBCG community continue to Humble yourselves, under God's mighty hand that he may exalt us in due time, casting all our care upon him for he careth for us.

From Wendy
EBCG, You will continue being a source of love and revelation of Christ to nations. You will continue giving with generosity the anointing that God has poured on you to bring leaders and decision makers from every corner of the globe to their divine destiny and freedom in Christ.

EBCG will continue to be a place for young people to experience God. A place for young people to find spiritual home.
EBCG to have a vision to serve the community. To serve the people that pass by, whether long or short, to find a home. The world to come to EBCG.
I pray that the coming 50 years, you continue to shine, continue to be the beacon, to be the mission field and mission base, to go out with the gospel. Amen

For Ebcg’s Jubilee:

I am thankful for the faithful preaching of Gods word over so many decades, and for the blessing of being part of a loving fellowship of believers from many different places and backgrounds.

I pray that EBCG will continue to be a faithful witness of God’s saving grace, continuing to welcome all those who come through the church, in the name of Jesus.

From Anna Chung
I am thankful to have been loved, nurtured, mentored and challenged by the leaders and members of EBCG. I also believe that God is making all things new as He prepares his Bride to meet her coming Groom.

“ Because He lives I ( we) can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know He holds tomorrow, and life is worth the living just because He lives.” (Gaither Music Co. 1971)

May our “Church on a Hill” draw many to eternal life in Jesus’s Name!

Philippians 1:3-11

3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4‭-‬7 KJV

From Nyasha Josephine Chigariro
Psalm 20[a]

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.[b]
4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
5 May we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.
6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
9 Lord, give victory to the king!
Answer us when we call!

Rejoicing over the past is only a part of the celebration – anniversaries also look to the future. In this Jubilee year and beyond, we desire to see God's continued work in and through EBCG. The possibilities are numerous: expanding numbers, growing unity, a building to call home, increased impact on the community, revival in the city, unexpected blessings. Who can imagine what the Lord will do?

In all of this, our hearts and our longing remain focused on the central goal for our Jubilee celebration: to recognize all that the Lord has accomplished, and to praise and honor His name in this generation and beyond. Glory to God!
